Okay everyone… it’s time to trade in those iced coffees for something a little more on the warmer side of things, because today it’s ALL about those hot cozy, fall beverages using coffee alternatives like Four Sigmatic and Dandy Blend!! Which, on a side note, are on SALE for the month of September! ENJOY!
Alternative Coffee Recipes!
I think it’s a pretty safe assumption that I’m known around the halls of Ambrosia as the girl who constantly has a cup of coffee in her hands! And NOT the regular kind either… the sugar-ridden, fancy latte kind. AKA the WORST kind. It’s almost slightly embarrassing how much coffee I consume on a daily basis! THANKFULLY… there are a few different brands that offer up healthier coffees, & coffee alternatives for those of us that simply can’t muster up the strength to put the sugar-laced, “fancy-pants” conventional coffees down!
Now I’m going to use TWO different coffee brands for the purposes of this blog post today… Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee Mix & Dandy Blend! Which, as already mentioned, are both on SALE this month! YES!
So what’s the big deal about these two healthier coffees?
Well, Four Sigmatic takes a bit of a unique (yet totally healthy) approach to the whole coffee situation! With their overall goal being to encourage us to lead healthier lives, Four Sigmatic utilizes Superfood ingredients like functional mushrooms; ie. Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, and Lion’s Mane just to name a few! These healthy coffee blends help boost both your immunity and metabolism in an easy-to-use, delicious warm beverage!
On the other hand, Dandy Blend is an herbal, decaffeinated coffee alternative that literally tastes like a big ol’ cup of joe! This gluten-free coffee is made of water-soluble extracts of roasted roots of dandelion, chicory and beets, and the extracts of barley and rye grains! That’s a lot of goodness my friends!
So without further ado (because I know you’re ALL here for the recipes) – below are three different “fancy coffees” revamped, using THESE healthier coffees!!!
Decaffeinated Pumpkin Spice Latte
Okay.. it’s Fall. I OBVIOUSLY had to include this on the list! We already wrote about a “healthier” vegan “PSL” last year, so this one is going to be super simple! Simply follow the instructions on THIS blog post, however replace the ½ cup of coffee with Dandy Blend decaffeinated coffee… voila! See… told ya that one was easy!
Mocha
The Mocha is ALWAYS my “go-to” come winter time – especially peppermint mochas – so adding this one to the list was another no brainer! If you’re not QUITE ready to commit to the winter and holiday season yet, simply leave out the peppermint!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- 1 cup of coffee (Dandy Blend OR Four Sigmatic)
- 3 Tbsp of Mushroom Hot Cacao Mix
- 1 drop of peppermint extract
- ¼ Cup of Whole Milk
- Whipped Cream
Instructions
- Stir hot cacao mix into the cup of coffee
- Heat milk on a stovetop
- Pour the warmed milk into the coffee cup
- Mix
- Add Whipped cream (optional)
- Serve!
Maple Cinnamon Latte
Okay so a certain, nation-wide coffee chain has JUST introduced a brand new maple pecan beverage, so I wanted to put a little spin on it with THIS recipe!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ of coffee (Dandy Blend OR Four Sigmatic)
- 11/2 tbsp of maple syrup
- Cinnamon Sticks (to Garnish)
- A dash of cinnamon (to taste)
Directions
- Pour in coffee, maple syrup and a dash of cinnamon into a mug
- Heat milk on a stovetop
- Pour the warmed milk into the coffee cup
- Pour warm milk over coffee
- Add cinnamon sticks for garnish
- Serve!
