Welcome March! As we begin to enter a bit of a transition period (ie. change in season, having the kids home for March Break etc) it’s important to set aside time for a bit of TLC… and no, we’re not just talking about binge watching marathons of various series on The Learning Channel over March Break!! We’re talking serious designated “ME” time, and to help you achieve this we’re sharing three Spa Recipes using March’s Featured Product, Aura Cacia Essential Oils!
A Spa Day with Aura Cacia Essential Oils – Brit, Team Ambrosia
After a yearlong bout of spa absence (hellooooo, those places are pricy!), I finally caved a couple of weeks ago and treated myself to a MUCH needed massage. I am happy to report that it was SO well worth it and did not disappoint, and it also made me realize that setting aside time to relax is something that I should try and do more often! Now while I realize that going to the spa on a regular basis is somewhat unrealistic budget wise, there are a few different ways to recreate a spa environment within your own home… namely through essential oils!
Aura Cacia Essential Oils are a new line of essential oils that we’ve recently brought into both our Thornhill and Vaughan locations, so I found it fitting to highlight them within this post today!
Your Guide to an At Home Spa Day!
Step One: Create DIY Essential Oil Spa Recipes
1. Relaxing Sugar Scrub
Great for using in the shower! It contains a calming blend of essential oils like chamomile, peppermint and lavender! So this is the perfect way to begin your at home spa experience!
Ingredients
1-5 Drops of Chill Pill Essential Oil
1 Cup of Coconut Sugar
2 Tbsp Carrier Oil
2. Himalayan Salt Scrub
Also a wonderful option to use in the shower (you can select either or!) I chose the rose essential oil simply because I am obsessed with the sweet scent… although I may be bias… I love rose anything!
Ingredients
1-5 Drops Rose Absolute Essential Oil
1 Cup of coarse Pink Himalayan Salt
1 Tbsp Carrier Oil
3. Foot Soak
Peppermint is one of my favourite oils to use in a foot soak! I find that it’s really refreshing and uplifting, which is perfect after having that nice, relaxing shower!! Let your feet soak for about 20 minutes. Peppermint oils are also antibacterial and antifungal, making them the perfect ingredient for a foot soak!
Ingredients
1-5 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
½ Cup of Epsom Salts
Warm Water
4. Citrus Hand Soak
Lemon and grapefruit essential oils help to brighten the nails! So if your nails are feeling a little bit dull, or you’ve been applying too much nail polish (honestly, guilty as charged for me), then this might be a good option for you!
Ingredients
1-5 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
1-5 Drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil
1 Tbsp Coconut Sugar
Warm Water
Step Two: Sip on Some Kombucha
Spa’s often offer lemon water, coffee or tea during spa days… so to help you enhance your at home spa day that much more, pour yourself some sparkling Kombucha Tea! B-Tea is a new line of Kombucha that we carry here at Ambrosia. We’re thinking that the Tranquility flavour would be perfect for this particular occasion as it contains 100% organic Aloe Vera Extract which helps to promote detoxification, and aids in digestion and immune support!
Step Three: Grab Your Comfiest Robe & Relax!
What’s a spa day if you’re not engulfed in some sort of plush, comfy robe while pampering yourself?! Be sure you dress to impress for your spa day with spa appropriate attire in order to help complete the whole experience! PS. Plush Pajamas are also totally allowed!
Will you be enjoying a spa day anytime soon?!
