Do we have a customer loyalty program at Ambrosia?

Points?  Rewards?  These are all gimmicks created to fool you that you are getting a deal, which is simply untrue.  Why pay high prices and receive minimal points?  We believe every customer should receive the best deal, every day of the year.  Our prices reflect this, we have the lowest prices, we are typically 20% or more cheaper then other retailers.  Here’s some healthy mathematics for you and how shopping at Ambrosia translates into savings for you: Point programs give you anywhere from 2% to 5% in savings on your purchases.  If you are paying for a product that costs you $9.99, that equates to roughly a $0.20 to $0.50 in savings.  That same product typically sells at Ambrosia for anywhere from $6.00 to $8.00, that’s $2.00 to $3.99, that’s between 30-50% in savings… that’s money in the bank!  Smart math for smart people! Don’t be fooled by these point programs, save today and everyday by shopping at Ambrosia!

What does the label “virgin” or “extra virgin” mean?

In olive oil, those labels mean that the oil was extracted without chemicals. In other oils, it generally means the same thing, but they are not regulated.

What kinds of oils do we carry?

Can we special order a product that we do not carry for you?

We will try our best to source a product for you. We require that customers pay a deposit on any products ordered that we do not regularly carry.

Which products in our store are organic?

All of our fruits and vegetables are 100% certified organic.

Our bulk bins contain a variety of natural and organic products. You can also buy organic, pre-bagged or commercially packaged versions of bulk bin items.

What do we do with short-dated food products?

Our shelves are monitored regularly for any products approaching their “best before” date, or any produce that is unfit to sell. Before products reach their sell-by dates, we donate them to Second Harvest, the largest food rescue program in Canada. We have a charitable pick up once per week, and donate both perishable and non-perishable food items.

How come you can’t find your favourite product anymore?

Many of the health food products sold in our stores and throughout Canada are imported from the United States. With short notice, the Canadian government often disapproves of certain products coming across the border and discontinues further sales of the product within Canada. Furthermore, American corporations often discontinue product lines into Canada, as the regulations between Canada and the United States are quite different and selling to Canada is often not financially feasible.
